About

I always thought I would throw pottery…… forever! From my first experience in high school, it was all I ever wanted to do. Primarily working on the wheel, I have made thousands of functional pieces. And then, I took a couple of basic sculpting classes and I was off…..onto my new adventure in clay. I have been lucky to find a sculpting class here and there with amazing teachers and students that truly inspire me.

People ask so many questions about my sculpting. I have a general idea when I start of what I would like to make, but I do not draw my work in advance. I may work the clay but it has its own way of somehow contributing to the final product. I am able to sculpt something very realistic, however I prefer more character-type work and creating unique pieces. I usually work on a few pieces at one time. Most of my pieces take many hours to create….and then many hours to glaze, stain or paint in order to finish my work. I may sit on unfinished bisque pieces for years before I decide on how to finish the piece.

What I find most inspiring from working with clay is the ability to create something completely unique.  To take a lump of clay and make an interesting piece of artwork that people will enjoy for many years to come is very rewarding.  Every piece is truly one of a kind!

I am blessed with a wonderful husband that has given me the ability to spend a lot of time in my studio creating. Between the two of us we have 5 children and soon to be 6 wonderful grandchildren. We reside in Florida as well as our hometown of Fairview, PA but love traveling to visit our family and friends.
